Approvals and plans
Decide the commands your colleagues ask to run, one at a time or as a plan.
How a colleague runs commands depends on the mode of its profile. In ask mode, read-only commands and the command types you approved for good run at once; anything else waits for your approval.
The request waits in a strip above the message box, with the command and the target; several requests are shown one at a time, oldest first. Only you, the person it was asked for, see it, decide it and stop it, administrators included, since the conversation it belongs to is yours alone.
| Action | Effect |
|---|---|
| Allow once | Runs this command now |
| Always allow | Runs it and approves its command type for you from now on |
| Deny | The command does not run |
"Always allow" approves the command type, not just this command: see Approved command types.
A request never expires: it waits until you decide, and if the colleague asks for the same command while it is still waiting, the new request joins it instead of adding a second decision.
Output appears live, likely secrets are masked, and a running job can be stopped. If you approve later, the job runs and the colleague reports the result in a follow-up message.
Plans
For a change made of several commands, the colleague proposes a plan. Approve the whole plan or each step: steps run in order and a failed step stops the rest.
